Summer is gone, vacations are over and Women’s Club is starting the year for 2008-2009 with a President’s Tea at the Yacht Club honoring our past presidents on September 18th. This is our 31st year as a Lake Forest organization and we look forward to having many our past presidents. For a special treat, we will have music by a very talented your singer/guitarist. Our meeting starts at 10 a.m. with social time at 9:45 and is open to all members and residents of Lake Forest. New members are welcomed, so come join us for a wonderful time at the Yacht Club.

We have several charitable projects that we support every year, such as Mercy Medical and Women Helping Women. Both are wonderful organizations and need community support. This year we have a new venture to raise money to help our charities. We are publishing a Lake Forest Community Cookbook with all proceeds above expenses going to our charities. You notice it is a COMMUNITY cookbook. We need help with recipes from the entire Lake Forest community, not just the Women’s neighbors. Publicize the cookbook! We need your help to make it a success for our charities. Plus, it will have wonderful recipes! I can guarantee it since I am one of the typists and my mouth is watering as I type them up. It will be a beautiful, professional book in every way and the price will be reasonable, AND what a tribute to our Lake Forest cooks, and do not forget the MEN!

Alice Albright has planned fun programs for our meetings this year and we look forward to seeing you.
