The Lake Forest Men’s Golf Association is experiencing a major growth in membership this year. As of the middle of January, we added 10 new members and have over 80% of last year’s members renewing their memberships. If you enjoy even the occasional game of golf, join us at one of our monthly tournament. We always have room for new faces and offer a very friendly group of men to associate with. If you are interested, simply call the Pro Shop (626-9324) and talk to Steve or Paul. They will be happy to give you all of the details concerning membership. Our dues are only $20.00 per year and you are automatically entered into the $100.00 Hole-In-One pot. Our tournaments include prizes (usually through four places in several flights), lunch, and beverage tickets for use on the course or in the 19th Hole grill.

The January tournament was a two-man scramble and had 48 participants. The winners were:

First Flight:

4th Place: John Basco & Ralph Challoner

Second Flight:

2nd Place Tie: Claude Meilleur & Jim Parks with Phil Becker & Durrell Norris
4th Place: Mark Hewes & Mickey Matthews

Third Flight:

1st Place: Bobby Stewart & Bill Chavois
2nd Place: Gerald Baggett & Wayne Zerfas
3rd Place: Carl Kauffman & Chip Stein
4th Place: Ric Lahti & Bruce Peterson

Our next tournament is Mardi Gras Madness planned for February 14. Prizes for Mardi Gras themed carts and players will be given in addition to the regular golfing prizes. The tournament format is Two-Man Best Ball and the entry cost is only $30.00. We hope to have a big turnout and want you to be there.
