The Men’s Golf Association, or MGA, played its initial golf tournament of the year. The 2-Man Best Ball with Handicap event had 48 players on a cool morning, but the players competed hard to win. The event was divided into 2 flights based on each team’s handicap total. The 1st Flight winners had a winning score of 63. The winners were: Butch Adams and Don Wineman. The 2nd Flight winners had a winning score of 62. The winners were: Ross Street and Bill Winfield.

During the meeting before the tournament, Derrick Sammons, the golf course superintendent, spoke to the MGA about the golf course and the future projects the maintenance staff are preparing for to improve the golf course. The MGA appreciates Derrick Sammons addressing the MGA and answering the various questions about the golf course and its future direction.

And finally, the MGA would like to extend an invitation to the men of Lake Forest to join the MGA. The Lake Forest Men's Golf Association was formed to promote, arrange and host monthly tournaments for its membership. Major tournaments generally include various social functions. The MGA works closely with the golf pro, club manager, and property owner's board for the betterment of the golf course. The MGA is open to all members of the Lake Forest Community. To join the MGA, come by the golf shop for an application for the 2008 golf year. It’s not too late to join for this year, so come on out and join us.
